AND LOST I WAS.....

Even though he once mentioned in an interview that he'd rather not be remembered by this movie, I can't help it that this was the one that got it all started. From the moment he stepped on that carousel as Marko I was sold! Alex had my fullest attention from the beginning to the end. Still credited as Alexander Winter I wanted to know everything about him; where did he come from and what other things could we expect from him? I rented Haunted Summer, taped Death Wish 3 and saw him flash by in an episode of The Equalizer once; there was no way I could deny anymore that I was a true fan......

As a young girl I absolutely loved The Lost Boys; the story and the whole entourage. And so did the rest of the world, because the movie was a huge hit at the time. Bought myself a cool jacket on a flea market in Amsterdam, and all of a sudden I had this ultimate desire to once learn how to ride a motorcycle on my own. I'll spare you the details on how many times I've seen the movie by now; it's a timeless tale that to this day still fascinates a lot of people and has a huge bunch of fans.

CALIFORNICATION

In October 2001 I traveled through California, Nevada and Arizona with Bas (boyfriend since 1995). We rented a car and drove for miles; it was our first visit to the USA. On our way back from San Francisco to LA we just had to stop for an hour or so in Santa Cruz where the movie was shot. I can tell you it felt pretty odd to walk on that Boardwalk and see that Giant Dipper sign. Bas had absolutely no idea what made that town so different from all the other Californian coastal towns we passed through. He mostly enjoyed Route 1 with its sharp curves, foggy cliffs, and beautiful viewing points, but for me it was quite special to see it all with my own eyes once.
